Oh yes, I’m keeping an eye on the upcoming GLTAS episode ‘Blue Hope’ to see how it’ll portray the Blue Lantern Corps. If there’s anything I can use/borrow/adapt from GLTAS for this blog, I most certainly will!

Long story short, it’s dead, Jim.

…. but it’s also not dead. Lemme explain why.

ASW kind of fell off of my radar for a variety of reasons near the end of the summer, the big reason being I got employed with full-time work (and the job I had at the time, briefly, was a swing shift at a call center) and as you can see… art has generally been sporadic, and ASW somewhat ended altogether.

However, I’d like to pick it back up again and reboot it somewhere around the start of the new year. The big change, however, is that I’d like to make it Saint Walker and the Blue Lantern Corps, not just Bro’Dee himself (More or less Saint Walker would answer things by default unless a particular Blue Lantern is specified). As always, there’d be absolutely no ties to current comic continuity, or GLTAS for that matter, though certain elements would be used carte blanche depending on the circumstances.

I realize this is a huge change, especially the shift in focus concerning the title character -and the URL would probably change, too, to reflect this-, but I wanted to put this out there and see how people feel about it.

So… Y/N on the Blue Lantern Corps being included in the focus?

“The loss of a loved one is never easy, no matter if it is a peaceful death, one brought about by terminal illness, a sudden accident, or in senseless murder. We are left to wonder ‘why’. Indeed, ‘Why’ leads to many questions. Why did this have to happen, why not me instead of them, why should I continue on any longer…

When I lost my family, I wondered ‘why’. Why would a loving creator take away the family that I held so dear to me. I couldn’t find hope in those moments. Not when I watched my father fall to his death, my wife and daughter drown, or my son die from eating poisoned fruit. Hope seemed so far away with each successive death, yet it felt… close. Still, I continued on, knowing that if I gave up all hope completely, their losses would be in vain.

After becoming a Blue Lantern, it all became clear to me. I took heart knowing that I would see them all again in the next life, whenever and wherever that may be. I draw inspiration from the time I had with them. Knowing we will all be reunited someday gives me the hope to continue in the face of adversity, or in seemingly hopeless situations. It’s what drives me to to spread the Blue Light throughout the galaxy.
