Ask Box is once again OPEN… Finally!

The blog won’t officially relaunch until the weekend, but I’m going to let questions build up over the next few days, so I have some material to work with. =>

Just remember that in addition to Saint Walker, you may now direct specific questions to Sister Sercy, Brother Warth, and Brother Hymn (though you’re not limited to just them. You can even ask Brother Shon a question, for example).

Have at thee! Saint Walker and company look forward to your questions. =>

The loss of a loved one is never easy, no matter if it is a peaceful death, one brought about by terminal illness, a sudden accident, or in senseless murder. We are left to wonder ‘why’. Indeed, ‘Why’ leads to many questions. Why did this have to happen, why not me instead of them, why should I continue on any longer…

When I lost my family, I wondered ‘why’. Why would a loving creator take away the family that I held so dear to me. I couldn’t find hope in those moments. Not when I watched my father fall to his death, my wife and daughter drown, or my son die from eating poisoned fruit. Hope seemed so far away with each successive death, yet it felt… close. Still, I continued on, knowing that if I gave up all hope completely, their losses would be in vain.

After becoming a Blue Lantern, it all became clear to me. I took heart knowing that I would see them all again in the next life, whenever and wherever that may be. I draw inspiration from the time I had with them. Knowing we will all be reunited someday gives me the hope to continue in the face of adversity, or in seemingly hopeless situations. It’s what drives me to to spread the Blue Light throughout the galaxy.

And for those who may not have a belief in a higher power or an afterlife, I say draw inspiration from the time you’ve spent with your loved one. Remember the good times, the love they had for you, and the strength they had during their own darkest nights. It’s in those moments, that hope always burns the brightest.

To answer your question, you could say I am. Where exactly, well… now that’s getting quite personal!

metaraymek:

Hooooooly… look at all those Blue Lanterns! (from here)

The fact that most of them are probably going to get whacked just makes me heartsick. But! Now that there’s more Blue Lanterns, I can cull from them for ‘Ask Saint Walker’.

Canon? What’s canon? ;]

OOC: I’m not going to make a habit of doing this, but I figured some of ASW’s followers would be interested in this!

And for what it’s worth, some of these new Blue Lanterns will more than likely appear in future answers, regardless of what happens in the upcoming ‘Battle for Odym’/’Fall of the Blue Lanterns’ arc in ‘New Guardians’.

I suppose there are times where I do entertain the idea of suggesting he consider our Corps. But, he seems happier as a Green Lantern, and I respect that.

I have always held that it would be the sole, personal choice of the ring bearer in such a circumstance. Some may appreciate being able-bodied again in some capacity, yes. But there are others who do not wish to be defined by a disability.

In the latter case, Miri introduced me to one of her fellow Star Sapphires, who helped us out a while back. He has had monocular vision since birth, but he told me that it’s never once stopped him. And that, I do admire.”

‘Saint’ was, more or less, a name bestowed upon me by Brother Ganthet and Sister Sayd shortly after my induction into the Blue Lanterns. I see it in purely a colloquial sense, as considering myself to be an actual saint -even of my own religion- is blasphemy in my eyes.

Although that hasn’t stopped some people from considering me a deistic figure in my own lifetime…”
