The fact that most of them are probably going to get whacked just makes me heartsick. But! Now that there’s more Blue Lanterns, I can cull from them for ‘Ask Saint Walker’. 

Canon? What’s canon? ;]

OOC: I’m not going to make a habit of doing this, but I figured some of ASW’s followers would be interested in this!

And for what it’s worth, some of these new Blue Lanterns will more than likely appear in future answers, regardless of what happens in the upcoming ‘Battle for Odym’/’Fall of the Blue Lanterns’ arc in ‘New Guardians’. 

“We have had discussions about changing the oath before, or at least amending the rules set by Brother Ganthet and Sister Sayd to allow for personal oaths if the bearer so decides. 

We eventually agreed that it was in the best interest of the Corps, to continue using our original oath, as altering it would prove too confusing for new initiates, like Brother Sepdifer’s recruit, for example.

“I once met a man who claimed to be a Time Lord, though he only called himself ‘The Doctor’. For reasons unknown, he had ended up on Ysmault around the same time Lantern Gardner and I arrived there to assist Lantern Kilowog against some Red Lanterns that had taken him by surprise. With his help, we were able to free Lantern Kilowog, and parleyed a truce between the Red and Green Lanterns. For the time being, at least.

If I recall, the Doctor was quite affable, always having a light attitude despite the circumstances. Yet he never once resorted to violence, which is something I admire. He had a screwdriver that was somehow able to tap into the Power Rings and briefly alter their abilities, which allowed me to create constructs without the aid of a Green power ring. The Doctor also had a strange, blue box that he called ‘the TARDIS’, which Lantern Gardner remarked looked like a… telephone booth on his homeworld.

I also sensed that he and Lantern Kilowog seemed to share a similar loss, the nature of which is not for me to disclose.

The Doctor left not long after, but not before making a cryptic promise that we would “more than likely” cross paths again.”

“Sister Sercy has a beautiful devotion to the power of Hope. With it, she was eventually able to embolden her people to overthrow Evil Star’s oppression of her homeworld. But that incredible story is best told by Sercy herself, not I.

She is also kind, compassionate and has something of an old soul. I’ve had many a long conversation with her just about, well, everything.

While she is no longer being instructed by Brother Hymn or I, she is actually instructing a new recruit in the ways of the Corps. Sercy and Brother Sepdifer are proving to be quite a pair… in the mentor/student sense, of course!”

“It was a feeling unlike any other. With the voices of the crowds around me briefly silenced, I could clearly hear the voices of my family speaking to me. Especially my son, Jatt, who assured me that we would all see each other again in the next life. I was… overwhelmed, to say the least.

Once the blue constructs of my family vanished, my heart became so full of the universe’s hopes and dreams all at once, it almost burst. But in a good way.

And then I knew, at that moment, nothing would ever be the same again.”

Sister Sercy: “It was the most interesting thing, Brother Walker! The Lantern’s greatest hope manifested itself as a Hl’ven!”

Saint Walker: “Fascinating.”
